Half Pint summer 2012 tour info announced

HALF PINT TO TOUR WITH SLIGHTLY STOOPID ON UNITY TOUR (WITH 311) IN JULY AND HEADLINE EUROPEAN FESTIVAL DATES IN EUROPE IN AUGUST

For Immediate Release: Jamaican Reggae music legend, Half Pint, will be one the road again this Summer. He will be an musical ambassador of Jamaica on tour as the island celebrated its 50th year of independence in 2012. Half Pint will be making his third tour of special guest appearances on 11 dates with close collaborators and friends, Slightly Stoopid. Stoopid are on their UNITY Tour with 311 and SOJA in the US in July and August. Pint and Slightly Stoopid have been in the studio working on new music for each of their upcoming new album releases. Their work on stage together can also be described as “magic” every time they are perform on tour.

Half Pint then heads to Europe for a month of headlining dates including some of the biggest annual music festival on the continent. He will slide over to Ottawa, Canada for one festival date for returing to Europe to finish out the month of dates

Half Pint has enjoyed a long history of success in the international music industry dating back to the early 1980s. His first big hit “Winsome” was later covered by the Rolling Stones in 1986 and the anthemic mega-hit “Greetings” is known worldwide as his signature song. A new album plus singles releases are in store for Pint in second half of 2012 as well as live dates worldwide

Eve joins Shaggy and friends (including Pint) at charity concert

ANOTHER international act has been added to the line-up of the January 7 staging of the Shaggy and Friends charity show at Jamaica House.

Rapper Eve joins Lauryn Hill and Deniece Williams as the non-reggae acts for the event organised by diamond-selling reggae artiste Shaggy to raise funds to go towards the construction of a 15-bed cardiac intensive care unit at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in St Andrew.

Eve, who is no stranger to Jamaica, was here earlier this year for the Excellence in Music and Entertainment EME awards, where she not only performed with female deejay Lady Saw, but received the Friend of Reggae Award from event organiser, Radio personality Richard ‘Richie B’ Burgess.

Eve is best known for her hit singles Who’s That Girl, Love is Blind, Just Want to Rock You and Tambourine

Other artistes billed for the event include Stephen Marley, Romain Virgo,Assasin aka Agent Sasco, Wayne Marshall, Tami Chynn, Coco Tea, Bunji Garlin, Fayann Lyons and Half Pint.
